Halloween Season 2024 Has Arrived in Disneyland Paris!

Disneyland Paris has finally entered into the spooky season! October 1st was the official first day of the Disney Halloween Festival which runs through November 3rd.

I was so excited to join in on the fun to welcome October and celebrate the beginning of the Halloween season! Here is what I found…

As soon as I entered the park, the haunting sounds of ghosts greeted guests. Throughout Main Street USA, you can see ghostly haunts taking over and scattering around to get into michevious fun!

These ghosts are the familiar decorations seen every year during the Halloween season in Disneyland Paris that bring with them a fun vintage feel, blending in beautifully with the turn of the century era lovingly depicted in Main Street USA.

If you look closely, they look quite similar to the fun-loving ghosts that appeared in the 1937 Disney short “Lonesome Ghosts” when Mickey, Donald, and Goofy investigated the haunted house as The Ajax Ghost Exterminators.

Along with these charming ghosts, beautiful garlands are hanging throughout Main Street with their golden and orange leaves as well as silly jack-o-lanterns, all bringing with them the warm feeling that comes with the Autumn season. It’s a cozy and comfortable vibe that makes you want to sip on a warm Fall beverage while admiring the view!

To join in on the fun, the classic characters we know and love are dressed in their Halloween costumes, scattered all throughout the park! Although some encounters are first come first serve, some characters are so popular that a reservation can be made with a cast member to visit them.

While admiring Chip and Dale (Tik et Tac) in their costumes, I overheard a cast member informing a guest when to return for their reservation to see the fun and mischievous duo. I believe this may be for the more popular characters to ensure everyone has their turn.

To give an idea of how far out the reservations seem to be, at the time I overheard the cast member it was 10:53 am and they instructed the guest to come back at 11:05 am. It seems that with this system the wait isn’t too long after you make the reservation. There was a line waiting to make a reservation which seemed to be maybe a 10-minute wait at the time I was by Chip and Dale.

This reservation system seems to be a good way to ensure everyone has a fair turn to interact with the more popular characters. But if you’re like me and are ok just admiring from afar, I found that it is pretty easy to get a picture of the characters from the side.

To find your favorite characters as well as the time they will be available, check out the Disneyland Paris app. Just go to the map and select “characters” to take a look of where to find them in the parks.

I don’t know about you, but when I think of the Halloween season in the Disney Parks, I want to know all about what new foods to try!

Pumpkin Shortdead (Sablé Bouille de Citrouille) - Raspberry Filled Shortbread

Unlike the US parks, Disneyland Paris was a bit more cryptic about where to find the Halloween-inspired treats. Even on the morning of October 1st, when I checked the app I didn’t find any clues of where to go.

However, the good news is that as of today, October 2nd, you can now find the Halloween goodies listed on the app under “Halloween” to find all of the treats!

On October 1st, having only a single sneak-peek picture released to go off of, I made it my mission to find as many of this year’s spooky foods as possible in celebration of day one!

Most of the available foods are the more sweet and less savory snacks. They are the typical cookies and pastries that you would find during special events in Disneyland Paris.

There is a hamburger meal this year that I was happy to see did not include the black-dyed bun of the past! Instead, it has a cute little black impression of pumpkin Mickey.

I do have to say, although it still has a bit of catching up to do with the US parks, Disneyland Paris has upped their game this year! It is so good to see the food improving progressively each year in the time since I first became a passholder back in 2021!

With October 1st being the last day of Paris Fashion Week, Disney helped to close it out with a bang by hosting a Coperni fashion show.

However, for the average Disney guest, this meant getting kicked out of Disneyland Paris by 8 pm, also meaning no nighttime show.

Being someone that isn’t as into fashion or designer goods, I wasn’t aware of the show or closure until around a couple weeks ago.

Although in the weeks leading up to October 1st a warning was posted at the top of the Disneyland Paris reservation system, it unfortunately wasn’t announced on the app when I made my reservation a couple months earlier. It is good that a notice was ultimately posted, but it would have been nice if Disney had posted the warning as soon as they knew about the closure when they first made the agreement with Coperni in July.

It was a bit of a bummer to not close the first official day of the Halloween season with the Disney Electrical Sky Parade, but there was still a lot in the park to enjoy during the day and I had a complete blast!

Halloween at Disneyland Paris seems to be very promising this year with new foods to try, villains and costumed characters to meet, spooky music and sounds to hear, and lots of Autumn decorations to enjoy. Let the haunting begin!
